Derek Day, Washington Department of Ecology talks to the Lake Lawrence Lake Management District members on how they can help improve or sustain the lakes shorelines for healthy fish and wildlife habitat. He covers the three key areas that must be considered: 1) Landscaping or natural yard care; 2) Care and maintenance of septic systems; 3) Impacts of storm-water and ways to mitigate it. During the presentation he provides information on helpful websites: to help with your landscaping ideas; to help with financing septic issues; and to help with shoreline armoring/bulkhead and other landscaping problems.
